Extremely unlikely. But that all depends on where you heard it. Where did you hear it?

It's not true, that release date.
With the writer's strike not even done with yet, no one has been contacted about starting the fifth film. No schedules cleared, contracts drawn out, etc. Plus that website is running a fan-made poster for the film.

Does it even have a legit working title then? Seems logical to call it Phantasm V or at least Phantasm followed by a word with V in it (much like OblIVion).

That would be great if they could work the V in like they did with Oblivion. I wish that release date was for real

I hardly ever go to theaters anymore mainly because most of the movies released nowadays are crap that don't interest me. My theater is pretty nice & the ticket prices are reasonable but we rarely get the good stuff. I may go to the movies about 5 times a year at the most. The only movies I really want to see are Rambo & Diary of the Dead but that one won't be happening due to its limited release.
I'd definitely see Phantasm V if it came to theaters though. No questions asked.

That's right, 47!!! F**cking a**holes. I want to see it so d**n bad, but I don't even think it's playing in my entire STATE.

47 huh? That's really crappy. I figured it would've been a tad more than that. I at least hope the DVD will be out soon.

Who cares about theaters? I can't remember the last movie I saw in one. I would be happy with a direct to DVD release simo with release to HBO or Showtime.

It'd be amazing if it got a theater release, but you've got think though this is the 5th film, and If it was put into theaters then it'd be dumbed down so people would understand who hadn't seen the last 4,
most of the first part would probably nothing but getting people up to speed,
But hey I'd still take it anyway, for me though DVD release.
