I posted this on the other board but thought it couldn't hurt here either.
Ok me and my friend watched Halloween 1-5 last night and yes some of the movies have their bad spots but I hadn't watched part 4 and 5 in a long time and 4 didn't really bother me as much as I realized part 5 is just a piece of crap.
It seemed to me the whole movie was out of character for Michael because he is chasing random teenagers throughout the entire film until the very end when Jamie actually come and finds him. Shouldn't he have been looking for her instead of just lookin for random kills?
I don't know but it just relaly ticked me off more so than any other time i've seen it.

Instead of posting my thoughts on Halloween 5, I'll just re-direct you to my DVD Active review of the flick here. To summarize, I enjoyed H5 the least of the series. For fun and giggles, here's my DVD Active review of part four and here's my take on the 25th Anniv. documentary release. I actually wound up being quoted on the official website for that last review, funniest thing ever.

Thanks for the links. I agree with the Halloween 5 review just way to many plot holes and it just went the typical slasher route.

i don't remember that much after part 3 though i did see all of them.
unfortunately with any series that goes on for so long is that some of the sequels end up in my eyes to be cheap versions of the classic early ones, like Halloween, Friday the 13th.
i love the first two Halloween movies though, and i did enjoy that F13 one with Jason in space so exceptions do occur.
the last 2 Halloween movies were ok but what bugged me about them is whover played Micheal did it wrong.
in his aggressive stance/his movement he seemed all wrong to me. i like how emotionless and robotic Michael is in the first 2.
i view Michael Myers as a soulless killer filled with a evil entity so showing much emotion whether anger or anything else kind of spoils it for me.
then again when Mike got his eyes shot out in part two he did show some pain and frustration when swinging the scalpel around blind.

Halloween 5 isn't great but I don't think it's really that bad either. It's on the lower tier of the series but I'll still watch it from time to time. My biggest complaints are Tina, the most annoy horror character ever, the Myers house looking completely different than in the previous films, & the whole thing with Michael crying. Ugh.

Halloween 1 = best of the series. By FAR.
Best scene? When she looks out the window and he's standing behind the sheets on the clothes line.

Halloween 1 is the best hands down i agree gopher. Halloween 2 is next to the best along with probaly 4, then (im gonna go out on a limb and say H20) then H6, H5, H3 and H:Ressurection as the worst

I would put H3 above H5. A few years ago it would have been the other way around but since I watched both recently I changed my mind.
I just really feel like there is no point at all for Michael to be chasing after Tina and her stupid posse at all.

Halloween III is an extremely underrated movie. Over the years, it has become a favourite of mine.

I agree it isn't a bad movie at all it just gets a bad wrap because it's under the Halloween name.
It's Tom Atkins shining moment!

I was talking to my friend about this the other night. If they had just called it Season of the Witch it probably would have been a better idea.

I was talking to my friend about this the other night. If they had just called it Season of the Witch it probably would have been a better idea. There was already a George Romero movie with that title. I've never seen it before though. I heard that they added "Season of the Witch" as a homage to Romero's film or something. I don't know how accurate that is though. Another gripe people have with this movie is that there isn't any Michael Myers in it. People automatically dismiss it as crap for that sole reason. And they're wrong, Michael Myers is in it. He's on the TV a few times & the guy who played The Shape in Halloween II, Dick Warlock, is one of the android assassins. He's the one that Atkins pummels in the stomach until the android blood starts oozing out. A bit like Tally's blood, actually. Just a bit darker. ;D

Halloween 5 was the biggest disappointment of the series. Hollywood just needs to learn when to call it quits. The series should have ended at Halloween 2. The only redeeming thing about 4 & 5 was Donald Pleasance.

I didn't know about that Romero title thanks for the heads up. Still I think it would have done better under another title than Halloween 3

4barrelhemi, I agree that Halloween 3 would have done better if it wasn't titled in the Halloween series.

I actually think if I recall they wanted to do a different movie every year and name it Halloween such and such.
Which wasn't a bad idea the only problem with that is they made Michael Myers into such a big thing you couldn't do the different movies angle without him in it.

Agree, Halloween 3 really wasn't that bad a movie but people felt cheated that it wasn't about Myers and just ripping off the franchise. Halloween 3 built up a good deal of momentum at the end of the movie.

I like it as a stand alone film. And as mentioned before, it's Tom Atkins' show, all the way.
