Here is some info about Bubba 2 from Dark Horizons Now, acclaimed thesp Paul Giamatti has been linked to the film and seems very keen on the project. He tells Rotten Tomatoes that "I would really like to do that...we are trying to do it... I'm playing Colonel Parker, which will be great."
Unfortunately one thing holding it up is Campbell himself - "Bruce Campbell was waffling around about whether he wants to play Elvis or not again. So that's the problem...you gotta have Elvis and you really want him playing Elvis, so hopefully we can get him to do it."
What if they can't? "If not, I'm sure they will try and find somebody else but I think it's contingent on whether he'll do it or not. It's a great script, a completely insane script."
So what is up with Bruce Campbell lately? I know he's doing Burn Notice right now but if I were him I would look ahaed a bit. I see that show headed for cancellation.

Just as I feel it would be wrong to add Bruce to the Phantasm series (which had been rumored)....I feel another Bubba without him would be wrong. i.e. no Mike Baldwin as Mike in Phantasm II

I just see too much Evil Dead in him. I would have to agree with you about him not in Bubba 2. He was the main ingredient in that movie, and it wouldn't be the same without him.

I've heard so much conflicting news about Bubba from a variety of sources that it's tough to know who to believe these days. I do think that some of this confusion may be intentional, however. To what purpose? Not sure.... time will tell.

As bad as this news is for Bubba, it may be good for energies being devoted to Phantasm 5.

That sucks. Bruce was amazing in Bubba Ho-Tep. I don't see anyone else playing the role or at least holding a candle to Bruce's performance.

Bruce is totally focused on Burn Notice right now. It's a decent show but I don't see it going beyond the the second season. They had to run the nuts out of it to pick up any audience. Before you all jump on me let me just say I am a big fan of Bruce. If you have seen the show you know what I'm talking about. Bruce has put on a ton of weight and no fake belly would be necessary. I think he should take the good roles while they are out there. Those off beat roles have made him famous. Oh, and if Paul Giamatti is up for it what the hell was Bruce so against? What would you guys think about recasting with Kurt Russel? He played the role for John Carpenter and he's familar with the anti-hero role (Snake Plisskin)

I'm in the camp that says no Bruce = no Bubba.
I absolutely ADORE Bubba Ho-Tep, but recasting different actors for the same role is something I've felt strongly about since I grew up with Furlong as John Connor and then they replaced him with Stahl as John Connor in T3. Total 100% complete bullshit man.
Edward Furlong = John Connor, just as Bruce Campbell = Elvis Presley.
The end.

Kurt would have worked but 10 or 15 years ago. he is still a good actor but his age might be a factor.
as the 2nd Bubba was suppose to involve Elvis as a young Elvis

Initially I didn't like Stahl, but ended liking him after a couple viewings. I think he really did a good job.

I just can't see a Bubba without Bruce in it. He made that character and movie for me.

Sometimes type casting works the opposite way. Only one person can ever play the role and pity the person that trys to replace the original. Imagine if Bannister wasn't available to play Reggie?

I mean I liked Phantasm 2, but LeGros could never replace Baldwin as Mike Pearson. And I really enjoyed T3, but it will always irk me that it's not the REAL John Connor... especially with the absence of Linda Hamilton.

Rumor has it that Ed Furlong is returning for T4. Question is now that the Terminator rights are in new hands what can we expect?

If you've seen anything from the new Sarah Connor Chronicles mini-series, you can expect death. They're going to sink the franchise even further. Mark my words.

Yep that's bben my worry. Even though Furlong may be returning who knows? It's not like his career is booming right now. Besides that I'm not sure who would make a good terminator. Vin Disel? Please no Rock or John Cena.
