During the interview with Reggie and Gigi at the convention, they talked about being vegetarians and being really big into animal rights. I myself am a (somewhat strict) vegetarian and was just wondering if anyone else out there is veggie or vegan, or just into animal rights at all.

My sister is, so I respect those who are. Just make sure you're eating complete nutritious meals. Lots of vegans are dangerously deficient in certain vitamins and amino acids like B12 and Carnitine (to name a few). Rice and beans is complete. i.e. know what your doing, and do lots of research. I've seen many vegans with pale shotty skin with their teeth falling out...
I rarely eat any red meat anymore. It's statistics like "only 1,000 buffalo left" that really piss me off as well. Consuming is out of hand, just take a look at us. Asians are healthier and live longer, why? Vegetables, lots more vegetables, and smaller portions (calorie restriction). Do we infuse the Asian influence in our American culture as far as eating? Of course not. MORE,MORE MORE FOOD....Yummy. As far as eating protein, you don't need much more protein (chicken, fish, etc.) than something the size of a deck of cards. But what do we do,....footlong steak and cheese.
I support prosecuting and jailing animal abusers. That latest incident with the dog fighting....let's just say if that person were to unexpectedly disappear from existence....that's got my vote...I'd pull the trigger myself.

I can't say I'm a vegetarian or anything along those lines although I have no problems eating things other than meat.
As far as animal rights and things reading that statistic about there only bein 1,000 Buffalo and all really ticks me off. I hate to see animals bein abused or killed for sport.

I say to each their own as far as eating meat...or not. I personally enjoy a nice steak....but in my family there are 2 vegetarians....so I respect that. As far as animal rights, we all need to step up abit and do our part. It isn't just the pro football players abusing animals....what about all those poor dogs who are locked in a hot car for even just alittle while. I own 2 dogs....both I am very cognizant of, on a hot day....they are outside only long enough to do their duty...then it's back inside, with plenty of fresh cold water.

I would go as far and say even owning a dog in a major city should be frowned upon. Mid to large size dogs need to be run every day, not stuck in a high rise apartment. I want to get a dog, but am waiting till I can afford a decent size back yard or access to a field close by. Whenever I watch Animal Cop on Animal Planet I feel like punting the tv out the window.

I must say I'm a full blooded carnivor. I'll eat pretty much anything, apart from rodents. I do have a greyhound and they do get treated like s**t once their acing career is over. That really pisses me off. At the risk of upsetting everyone, I agree on animal testing for medical reasons (but not primates, just mice and rats etc). For testing on lab rats to find a cure for AIDS or cancer I think that's something I can live with.

Yeah it sounded like he was talking about a specific original herd.

It was a "full seeded" herd, or something like that, so Gigi said. This particular kind of buffalo would return to wyoming so as to only create a full breed. At least I think thats how it was.

i do eat meat but do believe animals should be treated better all around. whether they are domesticated, wild or in the food chain.
there should never be any needless suffering or cruelty.

I believe in animal rights and have no problems with anyone choosing to be a vegetarian or vegan, but as for myself, there's no way I can pass up anything grilled or including bacon, sorry.
