I was just thinking in Oblivion we saw the Tall Man in the back of the hearse when he was talking to Mike.
He then proceeds to go into the coffin where there is a redlight similiar to what you see on the Red Planet.
So can the Tall Man and Mike make coffins into spacegates as well?

I think the Tall Man can just do whatever the heck he pleases.

Yeah but Mike also opened the Coffin and the red light appeared as well.
So it's not something exclusive to the Tall Man

maybe the Tall Man can open the gate anywhere and wanted Mike to have the option to follow.

maybe the Tall Man can open the gate anywhere and wanted Mike to have the option to follow. He was trying to do that all through Oblivion. And again I bonk my head for not seeing the obvious re red light. Great big duh... He does seem to be able to form gates at will. But one thing that's not clear: do only the minds he's working on see these things? Would an outsider be able to suss out the gates? He wanted to 'experiment' on the Pearsons...and Reggie he just seems to like to play cat and mouse with. Maybe he's done this same thing with others, but would anyone else he was not actively psionically connecting to see the gates? I can't believe my mind ponders these things...~/laugh/~

Yeah thats true he did say that but I wonder if it's true. Well before it was revealed Jody was a bad guy in P4 Jody was sending Mike places it seems the Tall Man wouldn't want him to be.
Which again brings up the question why would the Tall Man once he had Mike allow Jody to get Reggie to help him escape? Maybe Jody wasn't a bad guy all along?
