Producer David Kirschner revealed this weekend that he is working on a remake of an old movie of his - the 1988 horror feature "Child's Play" which introduced killer doll Chucky and spawned four increasingly comedy-driven sequels.
"We're discussing it with Don Mancini, who has written all of them with us from the beginning. The next one we're going to do is we're going back and remaking the first one and even pushing it further and making a very terrifying version of the first one, which is pretty scary as it is" Kirschner told ShockTillYouDrop.com.
Will they use the same script? "I think it would be pretty close to it, that's for sure, but there's some other things that we're exploring also, and some twists that we don't want the audience to expect."
No director has yet been considered, but he does confirm that it'll be an animatronic doll, not a computer generated or motion capture effect

Leave Child's Play the way it is! Geez, what is with all the d**n remakes?! All the Chucky movies after the third one seriously went downhill.

I'm not too big into the series but the first three are decent. The first one is actually pretty good but it's just not something I watch often. It doesn't need remade. I probably won't watch it.
At least it has someone from the original involved & they're using an animatronic doll.
I hate CGI.

2nd and 5th were the best, for completely different reasons ;D . I don't really think it needs to be remade either, it wasn't that special to begin with.
I imagine they'll put in more psychological "maybe Andy did it" stuff like in the original draft.

Not a big fan of the Childs Play movies, but can't Hollywood come up with any new ideas for a horror movie instead of more remakes?

Was never a fan of the movies, it all just seemed a little too silly to be scary. But it was blamed for the murder of a young boy by two other children during the 80's/90's. It was subsequently banned in the UK. (and before everyone starts posting, yes blaming a film for violence is never a just reason)

I don't see a reason for them to remake this at all. I'm really starting to hate Hollywood and their "lets remake everything" schtick they have going on lately.
I guess they figure they will make the for sure money on a remake than take a chance on something original.
