Hey fellas, I have some Evil Dead news (although I don't trust magazine info after that Gorezone nosense!) As it's the 25th Anniversary there was a small interview with Sam Raimi in Bizarre Magazine. The bit of interest was at the end..... When we will we see you and Bruce together again? I love Bruce and I don't see him enough....I would love to work with him again and I am definately going to I just don't know what it is going to be yet.
Can I suggest Evil Dead 4? We would actually like to get The Evil Dead remake going at some point. We haven't sorted it out yet but I think it's a good idea, because the original was so crudely made and a new filmmaker could do a great job.
what do you guys think???

I recall Bruce Campbell announcing on Fangoria Radio a while back (the same show he announced he was leaving Bubba Nosferatu) that the ED remake was dead in the water.... that the fan response to it was so overwhelmingly negative that it had been scrapped altogether. I don't want them to remake ED. Leave it the heck alone. Do a sequel or do nothing. OR just keep releasing eleventybillion DVD double-dips of the first two.

I am sick of movie remakes nowadays. I agree in doing a sequal or leave it alone. But remaking it- no. After Halloween, God only knows what will they do to the Evil Dead.

part 2 was basically a remake with some dark comedy thrown in so a remake i wouldn't like. either a all out horror part 4 in the vein of how the 1st one was or not at all.

Considering (if quoted accurately) the director wants a remake, it seems like it's probable. He obviously doesn't hold it as sacred as the fans do, which is a good thing. It's not like he needs the money either, just wants it amped up and modernized. I'm sure he won't let it get into the wrong hands (i.e. he'll Produce it). I don't often find myself watching ED, so I say yes, (with the right director and actors of course )

Of course everyone wants a remake. Otherwise it wouldn't be up for discussion based on non-news...

I think Campbell should just stick to cameo's so his head doesn't get too big.
I think the ED series is fine like it is. I wouldn't say no to a sequel, but I'm not begging for one either.
