that song was never on the soundtrack that i know of. i bought mine from the Phantasm site so i don't know any other place to get it. if you can find it though it won't be cheap. the Silva Screen soundtrack edition that is from 1991 and out of print is a superior version. better track order and sound plus at the time a re recorded suite of music from Phantasm 2. i use to have a copy until a so called friend ripped me off but i did have the foresight to burn a back up copy.

I don't know of any commercial CD that has Bill's song. However, on the original Phantasm Collector's Edition Laserdisc, for the Home Movies section, there was a supplemental audio track which had Bill's song--in its entirety (not just what you saw in the movie), played just by Bill, and it's actually quite beautiful. I think the MGM DVD special edition also featured the home movie section but I can't remember if the audio track with Bill's song could be played...

You won't find it on any of my sites. I do offer a cover of the tune on the Phantasm Archives under the 'Phans' section though but not the real deal.
Let me check with Bill in the coming days and see how he feels about offering the song for download. I get the impression that he's not terribly fond of the song itself so maybe yes, maybe no.
I'll post here if anything becomes of it.

I finally ran this by Bill Thornbury and he's cool with it. If you want to download the studio version of "Sittin' Here At Midnight", here you go: phantasmarchives.net/1995.mp3

Beautiful! Thank you so very much! I love Bill's voice--it's sooooo smooth, like velvet. Didn't matter what he was singing. I loved watching him jam with Reg on the sets of P3 and P4. Watched them do "Sittin' Here at Midnight" once live and it was pure magic! Just the two of them, and a handful of crew all sitting around on ratty old couches behind the set, dead tired from a long day, and this music rolled over us like a balm. The whole song, just like this mp3. Big hugs to you both for posting this!

I would love to have that soundtrack CD that contained the entire score(s) for Phantasm and Phantasm II. Of course it's now going for like $200 and the soundtrack on Phantasm.com is just from the first movie. They should have just made the one on the site an uber soundtrack with all of the score music from the series plus Sittin Here @ Midnight & Have You See It. One can hope...
