I was thought about this last night, tell me if this works. Since Phantasm turns 30 in '09, do you think Phantasm V will get release that year to celebrate the 30th Anniversary? Again, it's just a theory.

I'd have to say it's very highly unlikely. It would be nice, but the fact of the matter is that even if there weren't many obstacles in the way of Phantasm V being made, films aren't usually made to release on prior entries anniversaries. Just look at Indiana Jones for a more recent example.

A nice theory but I don't think it'll get a 2009 release. It would definitely be nice but I don't see it happening.

One will eventually be made, I think Michael said that as well in a podcast, I cannot remember. But if Coscarelli will not make it, someone will. I believe Phantasm V will be made...eventually, but not now.

Honestly, if p5 is based off of the comic, I would rather have the series end with p4.
Edit: I retract that statement. After reading the comic about 5 times in a row, I think I finally understand it (if thats even possible). So maybe if the full film script can tie in all of the other mythos of Phantasm it would be a pretty cool flick. My appologies to Stephen Romano for bashing his work.

As i have stated in another block, Christopher Lee would be a great pardner to Angus Scrimm in a Phantasm film. I think Phantasm 5 will be ready in 2010. As for Lee it prob will never happen, but what a thought.
