Has anyone been able to see Phantasm IV in HD? I have a channel called Monsters HD and they show it a couple times a month, and the quality is pretty impressive when compared to the DVD version. The HD transfer isn't the best I've seen but for a cable HD version it was up there and for a low budget film it was definately better than most HD-wise. It's interesting that out of all the Phantasm movies they decided to put IV into HD first, none of the other ever appear on the channel so I guess they haven't been mastered for HD yet.
With word that Anchor Bay is readying alot of their "classic titles" such as Hellraiser for Blu-Ray this year one can only hope that Phantasm I, III & IV are also on that list, or at least in the planning stages.

I have seen it on Monsters HD yesterday! It was so impresive! I'm also a member on the Monsters HD Forums and asked them time and time again to put on their channel Phantasm I-III as well. Here's hopin'.

Here's hopin'. They can only put the movie on if the HD version exists and is made available for TV licensing. My guess is Part IV is the only version that has been made available in HD so far. The question is who remastered it into HD, was it MGM or another company?

YEAH, who was behind this "production"? Maybe ANCHOR BAY will use the same transfer to release the upcoming P4 DVD. (hopefully)

If it was MGM, then there are good chances they sold the HD remastered version to Anchor Bay ;D

If it was MGM, then there are good chances they sold the HD remastered version to Anchor Bay ;D The benefits of the HD master wouldn't really be seen on the new DVD since the DVD is down-converted to 480p from the 1080p High Def master. But if Anchor Bay does have the rights to the HD master a Blu-Ray version of Phantasm IV could really be something.
