The year is 2012 and there are only three U.S. states left. Between New York and California is the wasteland known as the Plague Zone. Unfortunately, the evil Tall Man controls that area. Since many people are dead, the Tall Man is able to make thousands of dwarf slaves for his planet daily in the Mormon Mausoleum. Besides him, the other residents are "baggers," human-like creatures that are infected by the Tall Man's blood, the dwarves, and, of course, the silver spheres, all trying to break out of the barrier that contains them and into the real world. A group of hi-tech troops are sent in to destroy the red dimension where the Tall Man gets his power. Reggie follows so he can find Mike after a series of nightmares he had. Will they be able to finally destroy the Tall Man for good?

That's actually an old P4 idea. That is what Roger Avary was working on after he got the Pulp Fiction Oscar. Don ended up making Oblivion instead due to funding.

I have seen it but did not know it was a P4 synopsis.

This script would be a perfect Phantasm V.
How do you guys feel about a Amy of Darkness / Phantasm crossover? Ash drinks the potion at the end of army of darkness and sleeps till the Tall Man has turned America into the plague zone.

I dunno I love the Evil Dead movies but I'm not sure that would work with a crossover into Phantasm.

Yeah, as much as I like Evil Dead, I still think they should remain separated. That means any crossover or "vs." film. Evil Dead has become a bit comical, and Phantasm still remained serious, or gained very slightly, a bit of comedy. (PIII zombies). But Don redeemed the seriousness with PIV.

For me, a Phantasm/Evil Dead crossover is pure garbage. It would upset a lot of die hard fans (for each respective series), and leave everyone feeling rotten about the whole thing.
Besides, the two universes don't mesh at all.

I agree about a Phantasm/Evil Dead crossover, but the ititial Phantasm V plot involving Reggie and an Ash-like character played by Bruce Campbell was a pretty cool idea as it leaves a lot of area for action-horror and and light humor, like Mike & Reggie in Phantasm II and Reggie solo in Phantasm IV, leaving Mike presumable and The Tall Man alone for most of the drama-horror elements to occur and reveal most everything. With renewed interest in the project I really think they should just go back and do Phantasm's End; the Pulp Fiction credit has a lot of market value and I personally see a lot of potential in the project and fell it's the way Phantasm deserves to end.
The synopsis does soundlike Avery's original Phantasm 4, but because of the cost and Don's liking of the script Phantasm IV: Oblivion was made as a prelude (like the cop in the trunk with the bag plague) to renew studio interest and made Phantasm 4 into Phantasm's End, but it was written with minor finality in case nothing came of it, which unfortunately seems to be the case.

It would be good to see Kurt Russell leading a platoon of troops against the Tall Man. I'm not suggesting a Stargate/Pliskin crossover, just a fresh character.

I do like ManBearPig and the woodland critters

Nope, Phantasm has nothing to do with the evil dead. They were demons from satanic origins. Even tho tallman is evil , he comes from something else in another dimension neither from heaven or hell.
