In Phantasm I, Mike goes to the fortuneteller with fears that Jody is leaving him. The fortuneteller's granddaughter tells Mike that if Jody leaves, he will take him along. Should this be seen as an eerie prediction that The Tall Man is going to take Jody and that eventually Jody will come after Mike (to take him with him) under The Tall Man's direction?

You know, I honestly have thought about this very thing before, and I think you're right.
I always knew there was some sort of significance to what the fortuneteller told Mike that day, and I think that she said that with an almost evil intent. Notice how she cackles ominously after Mike leaves?
At the same time, she also teaches Mike "don't fear". This I think is generally taken as her way of helping Mike to not fear these things that could happen... maybe even to not fear this strange Tall Man.
But her lesson of "don't fear" could also equally be taken as something that goes along with her being evil. Maybe she wants Mike to not be afraid of the Tall man, thereby accepting him? As we find out over the course of the next few films, the Tall Man is in pursuit of Mike. He wants Mike for something. He even offers his hand to Mike in P4, asking Mike to come with him. Is this a connection with Mike's hand in the box in P1 and being told to not fear it? Also take note that the fortuneteller shows up in P4, cackling yet again. Connections? Who knows. Something to consider though.

This is going under the assumption that the fortuneteller is a minion of The Tall Man.
Since we see the fortuneteller in Oblivion, way back in the day, do you think that Terry Kalbus' character is really her granddaughter? And if so, is it possible that she eliminated all of the granddaughters family, and stepped in (with malice)?

This seems to make sense. Initially I just figured the cackling was because they were tricking him, once again, into believing in "fortune telling". I think P4 wants us to make that connection. I'd be curious to see if Don intended this from the beginning, or did he piece it together later.

If she is a minion of The Tall Man, it would make sense. Or she could be legit about Jody taking Mike with him but vague about it.
Haha she could also be cackling about Mike being scared at first when his hand was in that box.

I can see her being a minion of the Tall Man. My only problem with that has always been her granddaughter didn't seem to have a clue about any of it.

In the context of P1, I think the "if he leaves, he'll take you with him" line is supposed to be a foreshadowing of Mike's apparent "death" at the end of the movie (i.e. joining Jody). Don has said himself that the movie was supposed to be a stand-alone picture and all the characters were initially designed for "single use".
