Is this a mod or the actual game? I tried downloading it, but not quite sure how to install it. Is Doom 3 needed, or something? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I may be computer savvy, just not gamer savvy.

Doom 3 patched to v1.3.1 is required. However, when the UDK version is completed, that will be a standalone game.
Bladeghost, once again man, WOW! Absolutely brilliant.

I may be computer savvy, just not gamer savvy. I asked the same question...I hardly play any games on my computer but very interested in playing this one. I was told the same...Doom 3 patched to v1.3.1 is required.

Yes, sorry for the late reply. I've been laid up in bed for a while. Killersphere has nailed the answer on the head. You need Doom 3 to play this just now and the instructions are in the download. If you want to wait for the UDK version then you can, but I happened to have a copy of Doom 3. If you can't wait, you could probably pick up a cheap copy by now as it's a few years old.

Hi everyone, those of you that have experienced my project, perhaps you can share what parts you liked as I'm curious to hear of any particular areas that made an impression and your thoughts on them.
As for the UDK version without going into too many details that will probably take a few years as there are no assets to work from and will all have to be made and programmed from scratch, in my spare time and offered for free. It will mostly follow the doom 3 version as a template anyways, I would recommend setting up doom 3 if you can and run what I made available as probably what anyone will get as being the closest thing to a 'Phantasm game.
Thanks everyone I hope you can enjoy what I've created for everyone as it is for what it is.
Thanks! J

I'm getting the impression that only 2 people liked it , ah well ok. not very encouraging as for the udk should I continue here's a comparison of one udk intro version to the d3 version vid on youtube. It's not just two people that liked it. We all love the videos that you've been posting. But most people here aren't gamers, I suspect. I know I'm not and I don't personally own Doom 3 for the Mac. I need to get it sometime. Not to mention, I'll probably be lost trying to find and install the required update patch and your mod on top of it, but it's on my to do list. The UDK version sounds much more accessible to regular Windows users, you know? That only two people have commented on actually playing it isn't an insult to your work. Your work is spot-on brilliant and a joy to look at. It's just about accessibility.

So wait a sec... has anyone been able to get this to run on a Mac? That's what I use, and I am dying to play this.

No luck here. I have a top of the line brand new MacBook Pro. I installed Doom 3 and the patch this past weekend. I tried four times to upload the Phantasm game--the upload continually failed after the first few hundred KB's of info. Sad... But I know BG will eventually get the game to work.

Will let you know. I got sidetracked past week. My brother's cat died and he's been taking it kind of hard--and I've been phoning him every day to see where he's at. Sorry to keep you on pins and needles. Hoping to try again next weekend. Good wishes and good evening.

Sorry to keep you on pins and needles. Hoping to try again next weekend. Good wishes and good evening. My condolences to your brother. Itβs like losing a family member. My boss is using most of his vacation time to spend the last few weeks with his cat who is suffering from cancer. BG - I don't have a MAC. What do I need to do to have this game up and running? I downloaded the file to my desktop...the less steps the better...I'm the kind of person that just likes to click on a link and start playing. What do I need to purchase that hopefully won't cost too much? I very rarely play games on my computer....sorry to keep asking the same questions...just want to make sure I get the right version for my pc...otherwise I'll just wait for the UDK version....I have time...I'm not going anywhere...except on my vacation in June

Hi sunshine, DOOM3 for windows PC patched to 1.3.1 is all you will need, the patch is downloaded for free. doom3.filefront.com/file/DOOM_3_Patch;76460The patch also allows you to run the game without the cd in your drive. Maybe perhaps ask a friend if they have a copy you can borrow or help you out. also be sure your machine can handle the game to begin with I would recommend downloading the demo for doom3 and test that first. www.gamershell.com/download_7059.shtmlAs for the udk version let me explain to everyone that if it happens at all it will be quite a while if at all and will be for nothing, since i will be getting nothing out of it and it is a lot of hard work, especially for one person doing everything I did want to at least to get the doom3 version out, which I have and If my health doesn't get any worse I may work on it a bit from time to time but I have no real drive to complete it like I had with the D3 version. Understand that udk has NO assets to work with and all have to be made from scratch, this includes programming artificial intellengence ,computational algorythims ,flash in which I still have to learn how to do and many many other aspects to make something like this for udk a reality. As well as other projects I'd like to work on, and some finish like my thirteen ghosts project. www.doom3world.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16762&st=0&sk=t&sd=aand on top of that , find employment before my savings run out and so forth. so I would recommend the doom3 version as you would be waiting a very long time for a udk version if at all. well from me anyways that doesn't mean someone else can't try and make one. I have a feeling you have an older machine and by telling me of your inexperience with pc gaming I would recommend asking a friend to help you with it if thats at all possible. Hope it all works out for you. And kristen my condolences on the sad event. best wishes always. Take care my friends! and thank you for your support. J

Bladeghost,
FYI. I just tested your mod on a MacBook Pro 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running Leopard v10.5.8. It works great. Install was a snap. I popped in the Doom 3 install DVD, dragged the Doom 3 folder into my Applications folder. Ran and applied the official v1.3.1A update for Mac. Then unzipped your mod and dragged the Phantasm_Beyond folder into my Doom 3 folder under Applications. Fired Doom 3 up, selected MODS and selected Phantasm Beyond v2.0 and it ran like a champ.
If any Mac users need any help, let me know and I would be happy to assist!

Awesome news, KilleSphere! I own and use Macs so I very well might need your assistance. First off, did you already have a Doom 3 install disc, or did you "obtain" that online somewhere?
