As a thread extension I do have a seperate private members only development forum that discusses the project in more detail if anyone is interested in participating you may apply here: bladeghost.proboards.com/index.cgigeneral updates I'll still post here, confidential details will be at the private project forum . please keep details to yourselves outside the private forum, thanks. I'd like to have the phantasm community involved as contrubuting participants, so members here are invited to be involved. be warned all details will be covered and discussed fully. spoilers insane. even if you can't program or texture or model or animate, your opinions and suggestions are still welcomed. pizza for everybody! ;D I'm not leaving the community I'm just expanding it. Hope you all understand my need to consolidate this project into one place seperatly for development purposes. hope to see ya there, if not I'll still be here. Thanks everyone, JV

Nice locales.
What I'd REALLY love to see is Mike and Jody's house recreated, from Mike's room down to the spindles going up the stairs. Just a thought!

Here's a quick look at the crematorium from the perigord mortuary level, as it's unlisted it's only available here and my private development boards, however I want to keep everyone here enlightened as well. Might need to turn up the volume a bit.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUYglv1dEg0I've been making lots of progress on this particular level as it now has more fine detail than before. ;D

Yes, I loved the Crematorium in P2. I still want one of those signs. Classic.

One thing I didn't have time before was adding the burnt hand in the round window. I now have a burnt hand in the window. One reason why I haven't been updating as often is because I'm still building everything. it's a lot of work for one person. UDK initially comes with nothing and you have to build everything your going to use, so everything that you will see I made from scratch, or updated my old models I made from my d3 mod. currently working on the chainsaw basement at the moment. Chapel and a few other parts of the perigord mortuary are mostly done. still have to create new dwarfs and animate them and make some gui menus, a few more sounds and , it's never over.........

Take your time pal! It's looking great, and the more time you take the better I'm sure the finished product will be!

Because everyone has been supportive and positive I offer a peek at the latest build of the perigord level so far, with still more to go This is only one of 20 levels, it's still very raw and unrefined but some of the major parts and pieces are there. anyways have a look and let me know what you think, likes , dislikes and so forth. If I'm going to get proper feedback from this I think this is the best place to recieve it. This preview is not public and is only available here and my dev board. Hope you like this newest and updated preview, Thanks! www.youtube.com/watch?v=BV55rYx98M0Jv

Okay.... stupid question of the day....
When you are done with this, how would one play it? Is it on PC or on a console? I've heard of Doom Mods, so would I need Doom to play this? I am terribly unfamiliar with this sort of thing.

I am terribly unfamiliar with this sort of thing. This will be a stand alone PC installation and application. using standard mouse keyboard controls for fps (first person shooter) type games.

To ask an additional question on the same subject, will one be able to install and play this on Mac? I sure hope so!

As I am unfamiliar with mac, from what I know if you can run UDK or UT3 either using bootcamp or whatever it may be possible to run in a mac environment, I'm not sure about this but thats some info I was able to find, but straight to mac I don't think udk will work on that platform, from what I know UDK may not be mac compatible in its current form without appropriate compatibility software. So maybe see first if you can run UDK on a mac first before seeing if this will run on a mac. perhaps future programs might be made to change this ,in it's current form it might not be compatible on a mac and even with or without bootcamp. so it's diffucult to say, but who knows, I would say mac compatible? ,probably not and maybe not in it's current form, but in future UDK development releases. maybe....that's up to epic games, not me. I hope everyone can still enjoy this for what it is and what it may become..... All the best!

Ok would you believe I've decided to make a doom 3 version as well? well I have and I like it better only because the lighting shadows and textures work better than Unrealtech. I've always hated unreal because of its cartoonish element. Doom 3 is more realistic visually and also has most elements I need to make this happen with more excitement. I'll still work on a UDK version too, but I'm more keen on making this a doom 3 updated mod of phantasm. and it's looking good so far I'll update with some screenshots and videos soon. I think most will agree in seeing the differences,I'll post comparisons later on too. stay tuned....

Here's some quick pics of the perigord level from UDK in DOOM 3. Whats nice about d3 is besides true lighting is that the A.I has hunting and seeking ability so you can run but you can't hide... I'm standing in the chapel and this sphere finds me from all the way from the other side of the map....spooky! and that sound too.... good thing this comes with a chainsaw!
