Just got back from Wal Mart and Target. Zero luck at both places. I'll just have to order online or travel to the next town over for Best Buy. Tony, Best Buy's website allows you to search their store inventory. The Saginaw and Grand Rapid Stores both show P2 as being instock. Best Buy's website, however, shows the film as being backordered. Thanks man. You used to be able to check store inventory with walmart.com, but I don't think you can anymore. I have to say, I really do dig the update on the Archives. Very sleek and streamlined.

I went to my local Wal-Mart last night & they didn't have it either. I didn't plan on getting it but was curious to see if they were carrying it. Nope. Maybe Borders, Barnes & Noble, or Best Buy will have it. I'm thinking Borders may because they have some Jess Franco stuff as well as Troma stuff so it's possible.

I forgot to add yesterday the cashier when I handed him the copy of P2 seemed pretty happy and made the comment "So they finally released this on dvd huh"
It's now sitting pretty in it's rightful place with my other R1 Phantasms.

Universal rarely, I repeat RARELY gives thier DVDs chapter inserts. All you have to do is print out the front cover at a right size and write a chapter listing on the back (that's what I did).

I'm sure we would've gotten a chapter insert if Anchor Bay put out the DVD. And special features(probably ported over from the region 2 disc). And a better cover.

The cover (for the millionth time) is fine, though I do agree to the first 2 you said. Just wait a few years and Universal will release a SE. In the meantime, you have either the UK or the Japan Box Set to keep you occupied with extras (not to mention the 5.1 and DTS!). Just be glad we finally have a R1 Phantasm II DVD. I know I am.

Excuse me? I'm entitled to my own opinion about how I dislike the cover. And you're entitled to like it. I think the cover could've been a lot better & will continue to express my thoughts on it whenever I want whether you or anyone else likes it or not.
It is nice to have a region one DVD but I don't have to constantly worship & sing the praises of Universal for putting out a DVD that could've been a lot better. It seems they just decided to put it out & make a little cash off of it out of spite rather than sell it to anyone else for a reasonable price who could've done the movie justice with a far superior release.
And you are certainly right about having the UK set to keep me occupied with extras. I should import the Japanese set one of these days or constantly bug everyone about getting Phantasm II released in other countries as well then get that particular & continue the cycle of getting more releases of it. And make a billion Phantasm II DVD-related threads on message boards because my voice needs to be heard.

Can some one post what the audio options for the dics are? Is it a stereo surround track or a mono track. Thanks

I agree with Never Dead. I think the cover is garbage, plain and simple.
There's a difference between cover art, and just a cover. This release got just a cover.

Went to Best Buy today, however they did not have it. I saw they carried Phantasm IV, but not part II.

To TheNeverDead, I'm sorry and you're absouloutely right to be entitled to your own opinion. And to Joehzar, the sound on the DVD is only 2.0 Stereo.

Yeah I am a little disappointed with the packaging artwork and even more so the complete lack of any SPECIAL FEATURES. But... It's better than nothing and I am happy to have it and it FINALLY got released in the U.S. and that my friends is great for PHANTASM fans. I have the U.K. SPHERE SET with that WONDERFUL 5th DISC chuck full of hours of features so I can just pop that in if I want a SPECIAL FEATURE FEST. LOL As a PHANTASM fan I am grateful to UNIVERSAL for hearing the fans and finally...... FINALLY giving us PHANTASM II on a REG 1 DVD. NUFF SAID , Mike

It's not that I hate the cover per se... ... it's just that I'm just not crazy about cover art that takes its design inspiration from Looney Tunes. That's all I'm saying.

Natalie: Most Best Buy's didn't receive their shipments for some reason. I swear by Amazon or Barnes & Noble online. Usually get your parcel in 3 days. The DVD art is just too generic for me, but it will do. Don't expect Universal to put out a SE. You would have better luck stopping Global Warming first.
