The Russo films are much more comical and typical 80's horror. I enjoy them. they are good for a laugh How can you take a movie seriously when it has the same main characters in a few of the movies. Except the main characters keep dying over and over and over..... I do like the whole "brains" thing, man I love the 80's.

Check out FleshEater for craptacular fun. It's such a horrible movie but so entertaining. High rewatch value & a terrible score. Bill Hinzman returns as the Cemetery Ghoul from Night of the Living Dead as does Vince, the guy who shoots Ben in Night of the Living Dead.
The effects aren't too bad for such a low budget cheesefest.
You can buy it in the second Zombie Pack for $15 or less. Also included in the second Zombie Pack are Zombie Holocaust & Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror aka the greatest movie ever made. Haha.
Despite its flaws, I loved Diary of the Dead. It's worth at least a rental. If you're a zombie nut, then it's worth a purchase. The CGI is what brought it down for me. Terrible terrible terrible!

I've yet to see that. I see it at Wal-Mart all the time but I'm not paying $9+ for it. Haha. I'd drop $5 or less on it though.

Obliviongoon, take a look at the forum you're on... Touché Okay so now I've watched the extended, US theatrical, and european versions (watched the extended twice) and the extended version is by far my favorite. I had to explain to my brother why the zombies look so odd. The whole film just works, it is quite a masterpiece. I'm in love with this film.....

Out of the three cuts, the European is my least favourite. It's still cool to watch. The US Theatrical is how I've known Dawn for many years. The Extended Cut is the love of my life. Haha.

I've read The Zombie Survival Guide three times since I've had it.
My friend let me borrow World War Z but I haven't started it yet.
PS Should we make this a general zombie movie discussion thread or make a new thread dedicated to other zombie movies besides Romero's Dead films?

Nah man. You didn't hijack it. We all just kind of expanded discussion to other films in the zombie genre. It's all good in the hood.

I'm watching Dawn again, I'm at the part where they land at the airstrip for fuel. What a great scene, the zombie getting his skull lobbed off from the heli and the little kid zombies.... great scenes.
Im starting to think that maybe the reason Day doesn't do as much for me as Dawn might have to do with the scope of the film. Dawn is such a large scope. You have these characters escaping the big city into a zombie wasteland not knowing what is ahead. There is a lot of character development before they even get to the mall, Romero lets you get to know the characters. In day it just sort of starts and they get into the bunker within a few minutes of the opening credits. Don't get me wrong Day is still a good film, I just wish Romero would have taken the same approach that he did with Dawn.

Don't get me wrong Day is still a good film, I just wish Romero would have taken the same approach that he did with Dawn. True but Day of the Deads premise was that there was no real hope left. In Dawn there still was a chance that humanity could survive the zombies or get the upperhand again (the biker gang, the tv broadcasts etc) In Day you had the impression that all was lost and that the survivors were stuck living in holes waiting to die - or get on each others nerves. That and the paranoia and fear of being under the thumb of a leader like Capt Rhodes to me made the movie more creepy Perhaps I should take that "last hope" approach next time I view Day. Maybe I will fall in love with it. I don't hate Day, I just don't love it as much as Dawn ;D
